  • Australian taz debuts. Not affiliated with FELD owned Monster Jam taz, this down under version is very different in the attention to detail. Side by Side the USA taz can not match up in looks. Maybe one day these two might meet in a performance grudge match with the winner taking home bragging rights. The version from down under is defiantly going to go down in history as one of the nicest 3-D's ever produced.

Promoters and Teams have settled back into the old routine. They are putting distant memories of January 2009 behind them and are shows any safer for the fans? Sudden Impact is the ONLY team to have taken steps to prevent anther tragedy. Watching the above video and looking at how Captains Curse cart wheeling into the stands at the FELD Monster Jam World Finials could have been worse, the question needs to be asked When? When will another preventable incident occur? Will a driver loosing his life behind the wheel finally wake the industry up? How much more can these trucks take and continue to enable the driver to walk away? How many fans are at risk every weekend? Are you safe? Walking under arena seating or around a truck could have proved fatal a few weeks ago had someone been in the wrong place. Think about it...

    Let's compare the following:
A competitive high diver who stands a top the high dive and leaps off into the air doing multiple flips and belly flops on his landing was still considered completing the flip. You can not take the flips away from the diver because he did do the flips, he just had a less than desirable landing.

A gymnast who performs flips in her routine and comes off the balance beam, spring board or uneven bars is required to stick a landing for a high score. Once the flips in the routine are done they are not taken away because they did not stick the landing.

Tom Meents DID perform the world's first back flip period! Whether it was the first time at his shop OR in Las Vegas his world record attempt can not be taken away. He was the FIRST to do this even though in public he did not stick the landing...

Not the first monster truck back flip, but the first to stick the landing in public.

  • Saturday May 2nd, 2009 at Vermonster 4x4 in Bradford, Vt. - Larry Quick driving his Ghost Ryder attempts back flip! A planned stunt to copy what Tom Meents did at the March World Finials in Las Vegas.
Larry landed his second attempt of the day and not only that, but drove it back to the pits. Suffering only minor damage, we are sure fans across the world will see more attempts by more drivers try to pull off this once thought impossible stunt. What's next- A back flip in a monster tank?

Faithful Crushers Series: Loving Others by Kasey M. Carter introduces Christian values into the wonderful sport of monster truck racing. • Duluth MN: At a show this weekend promoted by AMP, a truck ends up going through a wall!

Prowler suffered some sort of failure and slammed into the "Get' er ' Done" truck pushing it through the arena wall. In the video, people can clearly be seen moving around the "Get' er Done" truck just moments before being slammed into. Serious questions need to be asked to the promoter. After this year's tragic events, why would they allow people to be on the floor during a truck's performance? Had this happened moments earlier, we would be reporting an entirely different and possibly more tragic outcome. What will it take to bring the industry to a set of standards that create a safe environment for spectators, participants and event staff?

Monster Truck Safety: More Questions Than Answers

Has the monster truck industry learned anything? Following the two deaths in January what has changed? A new innovation in an attempt to provide added safety was the Drive Line Blanket from Sudden Impact Racing. How many trucks adopted this new feature? Are the SIR trucks running them today?

The world finals was the biggest event in monster trucks this year. Trucks crashed into the stands, rolled over and wheels broke off. Some of the trucks were allowed to keep performing. One driver was sent to the hospital following a back area crash where he was knocked unconscious as reported.

Promoters and drivers have been settling back into familiar routines. The media attention is fading and the fans keep coming. The chances of another fatal accident in the monster truck industry is remote but who would have guessed the President of the Monster Truck Racing Association would walk right out in front of a monster truck on an active course 4 months ago?

What changes should be expected? What should the fans demand? What should be next? Who is at risk? Who should be held responsible and accountable when things go wrong?

In the Tacoma accident a bunch of questions have been raised.

    • What training does the track crew have?
    • Does the track crew have structured training?
    • Why was the truck allowed to keep performing when it had obvious lean to the left?
    • After not once, but twice, dragging the underside of the truck over an overturned car did the promoter allow the truck to continue?
    • Why did the driver keep going knowing his truck was not 100%?
    • Could the death of been prevented had the track crew shut the truck down and pulled it off the floor or the driver decided his truck was acting different and ended his performance early?
    • Is it a possibility a rookie driver with little experience was overwhelmed with adrenaline performing in front of thousands and unable to make sound decisions?
    • Who was running the remote ignition interrupter and why did they choose not to, at the minimum, shut the truck down and go inspect it before allowing it to continue its performance?
    • What set of guidelines are there in place for RII operator, training, consequences for not using the safety feature at their fingertips?
    M. John. Monster truck fan

MOTORSTORM TO BECOME THE NEW BUGS BUNNY TRUCK…….That’s right keeping with the 3D Warner Brothers/Looney Toons cartoon trucks what better way to say goodbye to a Champion than to replace it with one of the most famous cartoon characters ever created. Under licence from Warners again Bugs will be designed and built by Lindsay Houston from L.D.I. Kustom Signs and Designs and should be released at the Cairns Show on June 6. If this fails due to design approvals from Warners then its release will be at Dapto Showgrounds in September. Many names are being thrown around for the new truck. Bugsies Revenge being one of the favourites at present and rest assured this truck is set to be just as popular as the Scooby Truck which would have to be one of the World most popular characters. Lindsay says the design for the bugs truck is going to be his best yet and will be a real crowd favourite . Yet another fantastic asset for the Monsters Tour of Destruction in 09 and 2010.
But that's not all Folks...BUGS is set to get a new friend because he is going to be joined by another well known kids favorite TAZ. That’s right still keeping with the kids theory. We will be saying farewell to Thunda 2 and replacing this body with an all new, style TAZ body that will NOT be a direct copy of the American one in fact it blow theirs away just as Batman did. Everyone said when we built our latest Batman that we would just copy the USA one. Not a hope in hell ours is far nicer and that’s exactly what Lindsay has promised with TAZ. Anything we do from here on in has to be better and it will be, TAZ will definitely be in Cairns for the June 6 show and it was one of the stipulations from Warners that we don’t directly copy the Feld one and why would we want to.
Just when you thought every USA design was sacred well its not Monster Patrol is coming off the circuit for awhile after Mt Gambier and is set to get a whole NEW facelift and will return to the public arena as the K ZONE MONSTER PATROL with a whole new Police look, gone will be the current Sheriff. In its place will be a more kids friendly themed truck, still similar to CARS Sheriff, again targeting the 3 to 13 year age group. The flashing lights will stay as will the green colors, but that’s about the only resemblance you will see to the old Monster Patrol. We are currently talking to the Police forces about using the truck for various promotions in certain states which will also be good for branding and could even lead to sponsorship through the drink driving campaigns.
The original Thunda gets a new look... That’s right after 22 years of twisting oddly over the cars with its giant coil spring out dated chassis over the next couple of months poor old Thunda as we know it will be NO more Thunda will get a Brand New Chassis from James Tigue and Rich Inman. New sheet metal housings, new Coombes shocks, new Profab transfer case new poweglide transmission, all Patrick sway bars and accessories basically the lot, then it will get the Thunda 2 Body and will all be reassembled by one of Kreg Christensen sons in time for the July shows. Basically a complete new truck. The Old Thunda will be repainted and will be kept as a display item at the new permanent Souvenir Shop opening at the Big Kart track later in the year on the Sunshine Coast in Sunny Qld.
More still to come ... There’s still more the brand spanking State of the art truck that Dan Patrick is currently building us to head over to our shores will be a complete replica of his very own SAMSON truck right down to the bulging muscle arms that have made the truck famous in the USA. No expense will be spared on this brand new truck that will also come with a full toy range. These should hit our shores as early as mid April. Dan is planning to spend more time here again in June upgrading more of the current fleet of KC’s trucks and in another first Clive may head over to the States to drive his Samson truck at the same venue. This truck will be equivalent to any of the Grave Diggers or Blue Thunder trucks of the Feld Entertainment World and continue to bring Australian efforts up to yet another level.

  • Come and see the high flying action of Monster Trucks!
April 3rd and 4th at the Tucson Rodeo Grounds... 6th ave & Irvington Gate opens at 5 pm, the show starts at 7 pm. Come early to ride the Boogie monster ride truck. Also Demo Durby and Tough Trucks will be held as well. Tickets are $13.00 in advance and $15.00 a the gate children 3and under are Free!!! • COLUMBUS, Ga., February 11, 2009 – Aflac is kicking off its first year as primary sponsor of Carl Edwards and the No. 99 Ford Fusion in a big way with the launch of its latest television spots, “Monster Tires” and “Joyride.” The 15-second commercials, slated to air during the national broadcast of the Feb. 15 Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway, reveal the competitive but friendly relationship growing between Edwards and Aflac’s iconic Duck.

“These latest commercials are another example of Aflac’s commitment to the sport of NASCAR, Roush Racing and our driver Carl Edwards,” said Paul Amos, COO of Aflac. “It seems Carl and the Aflac Duck have formed a special bond together which we hope will excite fans and lead to a successful 2009 season.”

The first spot, “Monster Tires,” opens with the Aflac Duck furiously pumping up the tires on the No. 99 car to monstrous proportions. A confused Edwards enters and questions the Duck’s actions. He soon understands as the spot ends with Edwards and the Duck cruising through traffic-filled streets raised above a crowd of screaming fans, bouncing on the No. 99 car’s oversized tires.

An Official Statement from the Hall of Fame.

We have decided to make an official statement to address the many emails and phone calls we have received, in reference to the recent accidents and some inappropriate behavior.

We recognize everyone's right to free speech. We respect each individual's feelings. What troubles us are the actions some have taken.

They can affect how the world views the monster truck industry.

Accusations of inappropriate comments, threatening behavior and immature actions should be reviewed by those involved on how it could have been done better. If someone is threatened either bodily or via loss of business we recommend you seek legal council to protect yourself and your interests.

Not everyone likes monster trucks and that is OK.

To the non monster truck fan: How would you feel if someone made fun of what you like? Or poked jokes at a recent loss close to you?
Please, Do not stereotype the monster truck community. It is made up of many different kinds of people.

To the monster truck fan, be careful what you say and of being a hypocrite.

Respect and tolerance might be practiced here.

We offer these links to sites and ask you to base your decision on what you see.

Roughly ten years ago we were turned on to big trucks racing on obstacle type tracks in Sweden. Now some of the trucks look as they did back then. Some have kept their name but grown into full sized Monsters. We have a challenge for someone with the right sized property here in the States to build a short off road track big enough to race monsters side by side. We think that could be the next big thing in Monster Truck racing.

Brandon Lagarde, the owner of Sudden Impact Racing (SIR), was notified early Saturday morning of Friday night's tragic event this past weekend. While attending a show last weekend, Brandon immediately went to work, based on what little information was available as to what caused the part failure in Tacoma, and began developing a new safety blanket to contain drive line parts in the event of failure.

He is aggressively going after this new problem and has developed the world's first drive line blanket. In the early stage of research and development, these new blankets will be on the trucks this weekend during competition and freestyle. Next week, after this weekend's shows, the blankets will be evaluated for success and modifications. All Team SIR trucks will be outfitted with these new blankets as they become available.

The Official Monster Truck Hall of Fame would like to thank Team SIR for the rapid response and desire to improve. It is teams like SIR that show the ability to quickly react and tackle a situation when one arises. The Official Monster Truck Hall of Fame is proud to award team SIR the January "Impact Award".

This new award may be given to 1 team a month that goes above and beyond all others, promoting and innovating new technology while enhancing safety. Promoters and fans alike should feel good when they have these Impact Award teams in attendance. Sponsors, you should consider having your names associated with teams of this high caliber and dedication to fan safety!

See pictures below of actual blankets on the trucks for tonight's show

    • A rumor has been circulating that a new body named "Nitro Circus" based on the Pastrana 199 truck will be debuting soon. Further speculation has also noted that the extra 3 seats in the rear of the cab will be put to use. One can only guess this might be the clown car of monster trucks with all them seats. A spokesperson for the clown collage said they had "no comment". We believe this to be only rumor and do not see a bunch of clowns pouring out of a monster truck spraying fizzy water bottles, performing slapstick comedy with a name like Nitro Circus anytime soon, but who knows....

    • Two years after vowing never to return to the Border, monster truck promoter Clive Featherby is back promising again.
Mr Featherby assured there would be no last minute cancellation and a show to remember.
In 2007, the high-powered extravaganza was cancelled just three days before the event due to a “lack of interest”, the promoter claiming only 17 tickets had been sold.
“We have only sold about 50 tickets for Saturday night but we still expect a big crowd,” he said.
“This show plays to sell-out crowds around the country and while it is a bit of a mystery with the ticket sales, I’m confident people will turn up on the night.
“We sold out for two nights of 5000 people at Ballarat. “The show will go on.”
Saturday night’s 3½-hour show will include the monster trucks, motocross action off a 25m ramp, demolition derby, the human inferno — where Mr Featherby’s son is strapped to a car, driven through a tunnel and then wall of flame — and $50,000 in fireworks.
Depending on fire restrictions, a jet van described as a car melting flame thrower could also be on the program.
Featherby defended criticism of the cost of the tickets that include $20 for a three-year-old child.
He said it costs about $100,000 to stage the show. “The trucks will use up to 1200 litres of methanol alone, it is not cheap,” he said. “We pay substantial licence fees to use the Scooby-Doo and Batman name on the monster trucks.
“We can’t do it any cheaper ... We believe it is good value.”
Gates open at 4pm, and at 4.30pm children can get up close to the trucks at the Pit Party, before the main show at 6pm. Tickets at the gate or before at Albury Autobarn

Promoted by Checkered Flag Productions, the event titled “Monster Truck Winter Nationals” kicked off with a bang to our 2009 winter season.

Jon Zimmer’s new Amsoil Shock Therapy truck rocked the house Friday night by bringing home a perfect 30 in freestyle, giving the Amsoil sponsored truck its first freestyle win of 2009.

Excaliber, now sporting the Amsoil chassis from 2008, put on an awesome freestyle as well, but wasn’t able to out gun Amsoil Shock Therapy and the other competition.

Saturday night Zimmer took Amsoil Shock Therapy on a racing spree where he dominated the field and brought home the teams first 2009 racing win. Jon Zimmer put on another rock solid performance in freestyle with big air, sky wheelies, and a killer donut to finish his run of, wrapping up the weekend with 2 freestyle victories and a racing win.

    • VIRGINIA- "The boy told police he learned to drive playing video games, including Grand Theft Auto and Monster Truck Jam."

      Boy, 6, survives 10-mile joyride

The word "miracle" can be overused. But when a 6-year-old boy drives a Ford Taurus more than 10 miles, weaving in and out of oncoming traffic at speeds exceeding 60 mph, slams into a utility pole and no one gets hurt, well, maybe miracle is appropriate.

That's what happened near Wicomico Church on Monday when the first-grader missed his school bus and decided to drive his mom's car to school so he wouldn't miss breakfast and P.E., authorities said.

"It's a miracle that somebody didn't get killed," said Northumberland County Sheriff Chuck Wilkins. "We're a rural area, but if we do have a rush hour, that's it."

The boy told police he learned to drive playing video games, including Grand Theft Auto and Monster Truck Jam. Authorities drove him to school after he was evaluated at a local hospital.

"He was very intent on getting to school," Wilkins said. "When he got out of the car, he started walking to school. He did not want to miss breakfast and P.E."

The boy and his brother, 4, were placed in protective custody. His parents were charged with child endangerment.

    • The Official Monster Truck Hall of Fame has received all the documents pertaining to SIR tires. We have reviewed all the documents and find them to be factual and accurate. We hope this can answer any questions about the worlds first specifically made for monster truck racing tire.

Sudden Impact Racing, LLC (SIR) purchased the engineering, design, and manufacture of one tire mold designed specifically for Monster Truck applications from , (GCS). The design, mold, and product off of this mold are the sole property of SIR. The “Manufacture and Non-Disclosure/Non-Circumvent Agreement” between GCS and SIR clearly states in Item 3: “The tire mold once certified, and the tire Products design, shall be owned exclusively by Sudden Impact”. Item 4 of this agreement goes on to state: “ Exclusive Agreement: GCS agrees that it shall not manufacture or distribute tires or related products for use with Monster Trucks racing applications for any corporation, partnership, proprietorship, owner, individual or other entities other than Sudden Impact during the term of this agreement.”

In addition, the Sales Contract that GCS has with the current tire manufacturer also addresses ownership of the mold and the product from this mold. The sales contract between GCS and Feichi states that the mold and design are the property of GCS’s customer and they are prevented from selling any tires from this mold without written permission from GCS. Violation of this part of the contract by the Vendor will result in a $250,000 penalty.

Bubbles for Kids and all of its volunteers will be spending Christmas Day at a home for boys in Pennsylvania(location undisclosed due to anonymity). The day will also be filmed by Speed Channel and syndicated worldwide for a Holiday special on Monster Jam and John Seasock. The Game Stop corporation has donated a Rock Band and Guitar Hero for the home and Traxxas has donated 41 R.C. monster trucks for the occasion! This is a situation that Bubbles herself can all to well sympathize with. "Christmas to me is for children."-Bubbles Kurtz explains. These children will not have that energized excitement that all other children feel when they wake that morning, and some have even mentioned that they hate Christmas because in the past it has only brought them nothing but heartache." Bubbles for kids wants to change that"-Bubbles for Kids director. Bubbles for Kids has promised that all donors and sponsors will be mentioned in all interviews. Bubbles for Kids wants to change the meaning of Christmas for these 40 boys! What can others do to help? Cult Energy will be the 2009 primary sponsor of veteran driver Sean Duhon, who will be driving the new Energy Activator monster truck for Sudden Impact Racing.

Duhon will debut the Cult Energy Activator monster truck at Monster Jam in San Antonio, Texas, inside the Alamodome on January 9th and 10th.

“We have partnered with Cult Energy Drink with a vested interest in their company and products. We want to increase brand awareness for Cult Energy, and provide their company with the exposure they are looking for in markets that offer their products.” stated Brandon Lagarde, owner of Sudden Impact Racing.

Cult Energy Activator is a potent and full flavored Guarana Caffeine drink. The lime and berry combination flavor with Guarana Caffeine makes for a truly flavorful energy drink. Cult Energy Activator is a utility drink to be taken against exhaustion and mental or physical weariness. Cult Energy Activator combines two natural substances, Guarana, which contains 3-6 times more caffeine than the same amount of coffee beans, and Ginseng with the stimulating energy provided by carbon hydrates. After debuting in San Antonio, Cult Energy Activator will compete at the Century Tel Center in Bossier City, LA, and then compete at the New Orleans Superdome, with additional stops in Amarillo, Texas, Salt Lake City, Utah, Albuquerque, New Mexico, Beaumont, Texas, Hobbs, New Mexico, and ending the winter tour in Billings, Montana. The truck will be refreshed before continuing into the 2009 spring and summer events. Visit www.suddenimpact.com to view the SIR schedule that will be updated throughout 2009.

    • BIGFOOT Chevrolet Silverado 2008 SEMA - Final Update

BIGFOOT would like to thank all of our sponsors and partners who helped with this 2008 SEMA BIGFOOT Silverado project. The truck was built in only 15 weeks, while our dedicated employees continued to keep up with all of our normal work, which consists of maintaining our fleet of 7 BIGFOOT Monster Trucks and working on our retail customers’ vehicles. Over the past 3 years, we have helped design and built vehicles for Hasbro, Inc., Ford Motor Company, Monster Energy, and now GM, just to name a few.

We would like to give a special thanks to all of our employees who worked on this project: Bryan Bertoletti, Chris Ludwig, Bob Brown, John Peterson, Randy Lenger, Nick “Pedro” Dvorchek, AJ Stratmann, Alan Hartsock, Jim Kramer, and Bob Trent.
The 2008 BIGFOOT Silverado received the following awards, etc. while in Vegas:

      • Mothers Choice Award: Excellence in Automotive Design
      • GM 2008 SEMA Design Award: Best GM Truck
      • CARandDRIVER.com 2008 SEMA Awards – Auto Shows: Bad-Assest Truck: BIGFOOT 4X4 Chevrolet Silverado: “There were a ton of burly trucks at SEMA, making for a lot of competition for this award, but this massive flat-red Silverado crafted by the Bigfoot bunch takes it.” And, on their Day 3 photo page: “And now it’s time to run stuff over. What kinds of stuff? Oh, anything. Cars, houses, small towns, Himalayan peaks, whatever. This Silverado is in Vegas courtesy of Bigfoot 4x4, the same company that builds those big, blue Ford trucks that are so famous for running things over. This is reportedly their first Chevrolet, and hopefully not their last.”

    • Grant Denyer on his monster truck crash and recovery

TV star Grant Denyer writes about the monster truck crash that has left him facing a long recovery - and a centimetre shorter.
WHOA, what a hairy couple of days it's been.

My monster truck hit the deck hard on Wednesday and my back absorbed more of the impact than the truck's suspension did. Everything else about the jump was pretty much textbook. So it was just one of those things, I guess. It's one of my lower vertebrae that took the blow and I've shattered it into quite a few pieces, unfortunately. The good news is that there's no nerve damage and now it's a matter of taking it easy for a couple of months to let the bones heal properly. You know how I love my motor sport - this is one of the hardest realisations but I have to pull out of all my racing commitments for the rest of 2008. It's hard considering this has been my best racing season ever, having won my first two V8 races and leading the field in the 2008 Mini Championship. But the spine is a delicate thing and we can't take any chances at this time.

I'm shattered, literally - Denyer Herald Sun, 22 Sep 2008 I'm being so well looked after by the amazing doctors and staff at St Vincent's Hospital in Sydney and all the signs are good for a 100 per cent recovery ... if I take the time to rest for the next few months. As if having the racing accident wasn't bad enough already, the most heartbreaking news was that, as a result of the injury, I am a centimetre shorter. I was 165cms but from today I'll be 164cm. Damn! My promising basketball career has been shot down! I can't believe the messages of support this past 24 hours. Thank you so much. I can't thank you all enough. Give me a little time and I'll be back looking for the next challenge. I really will. Just dare me!

    • Monster truck show organiser sues club

The organiser of a Rockhampton monster truck show which was axed earlier this year is suing the city's saloon car club for $240,000 damages.

Clive Featherby's company, KCS Fireworks Displays, claims it lost $140,000 worth of anticipated profits and suffered $100,000 in loss of business reputation when the monster truck show had to be canned in May at the last minute.

On Thursday the company lodged a claim with the District Court at Rockhampton.

While the matter is before the court, Mr Featherby yesterday said he had organised another monster truck show to be held at the Rockhampton Showgrounds on Saturday, November 29, so the region's motoring enthusiasts wouldn't miss out.

He said this show, which has been organised through the council and not the saloon club, would be bigger and better and would benefit many community clubs in the region.

The court claim, relating to the cancelled May show, said: "There was a bad feeling amongst the Rockhampton public about the plaintiff not bringing his trucks to Rockhampton.

"The company expects it will have to increase its advertising massively to counter this, any time that it returns to run a show in Rockhampton or surrounding area."

It said the company and the saloon car club had a contract to jointly promote the May show.

Mr Featherby had spent more than $13,000 promoting the event, including television advertising, printing more than 8000 pamphlets, supplying 5000 tickets to be sold and bringing two monster trucks to the city.

Between April 21 and 28 the parties had a disagreement.

"The saloon car club repudiated the contract by advising the plaintiff they would not be allowing the plaintiff to conduct the show at the Rockhampton Showgrounds," the claim said.

Mr Featherby was unable to hire the Showgrounds independently and later cancelled the event.

A spokesman for the Rockhampton Saloon Car Club yesterday said the club had taken legal advice and was not in a position to comment at this stage.

  • West Coast Monster truck deal generates heat
The West Coast Monster Truck show contract was at the center of a somewhat heated discussion at Tuesday's Fair Board meeting and has been sent to the board's executive committee for review. Joe's (Froome) been a longtime renter and one of our biggest events, so we ll do whatever we can to make it fair and equitable for both parties, said Mark Eidman, fairground CEO. Part of making things fair and equitable is taking a closer look at the wording of the contract, Eidman said. I don t anticipate any problems, Eidman said. We just want to make sure it s what we wanted. Is it what we meant or just one interpretation of it?
At the center of the discussion was the fact that Froome, president of the Major League of Monster Trucks, did not realize the $25,000 good faith deposit for use of the fairground was non-refundable. Bev (Ross) and I both agree we didn't come out of the meeting with that understanding, Froome said. Now, there s a potential for more money, about $8,500, being owed, but that all depends upon the interpretation the executive committee chooses when it takes another looks at the contract. One thing Froome reminded the board was, even though there had been issues in 2007, the bills were still paid.
Several board members said there should be a compromise, especially considering poor weather during Fridays show, the amount of money Froome put down in good faith and the state of the economy. I'm kind of leaning toward some kind of compromise, said board member Gerald Sanders. That may not be in the interest of the board, but in the long run, it would be better. Board member Tonya Redamonti, a real estate agent, compared the situation to loan modifications often done in banking to help out struggling customers. It s not a concept of right or wrong, but I think the idea is we have to do the same thing if we want to keep our renters here, Redamonti said. Everyone has a different interpretation. My suggestion is that the executive committee work things out. The findings of the committee are due to be reported to the board at its Nov. 18 meeting. ----- Julie Zeeb

MONSTER NATION TO MAKE ITS FORD ARENA DEBUT

      TICKETS GO ON SALE TOMORROW!

CHICAGO IL (October 9, 2008) ¬– Tickets go on sale this Friday for a brand-new monster truck event. February 27, 28 and March 1 Monster Nation will make its debut in Beaumont at Ford Arena with a monster truck track that promises to be make this year’s show the most exciting monster truck events that Beaumont has ever seen.

“In the past we have gone over ice at Ford Arena,” said Brian Manson, Director of Operations for Monster Nation. “This year we will be taking the ice out, which increases the amount of floor space available, making it possible to design a bigger, more difficult track that is new to Beaumont.”

Here’s why fans will say Monster Nation is the most exciting monster truck event that Beaumont has ever seen:

      1. For the first time ever at Ford Arena, the trucks will race on an oval track, and not side by side as in years past. This will add a much higher degree of difficulty, a higher risk for crashes and a more exciting event for the fans.

      2. Five monster trucks will compete in racing and freestyle including Sudden Impact, Equalizer, Hot Tamale, the brand-new AMSOIL Shock Therapy and Barbarian.

      3. The car-eating, fire-breathing, crowed-pleasing transforming dinosaur robot, Transaurus will be featured.

      4. The world-class FMX East motocross competition will showcase professional motocross riders who have competed across North America, Europe and South America. The FMX East motocross competition is a new style of motocross which features both racing and also freestyle motocross.

      5. The Sergeant Smash monster truck will return by popular demand to give rides to fans during the pit party, intermission and after each show.

The stars of Monster Nation will get up close and personal with fans before each event during the Pit Party. Fans holding a pit pass and an event ticket will be allowed onto the floor of the Ford Arena before each event. Free pit passes will be included with all tickets purchased now through December 31st and will also be available at a location to be announced no later than January 15.

Monster Nation begins at 8 pm on the 27th and 28th and 3 pm on the 1st. Kids tickets outside the gold circle are just $11 and discounted group rates are also available. Tickets are available at the Ford Arena Box Office, all Ticketmaster outlets, online at www.ticketmaster.com or charge by phone at 409-833-7747. All seats are reserved.
