The Aussie Battler was designed and built in Queensland, to United States specifications, by Bruce Reilly. The truck went on tour with Bruce for several years, but he would then sell the truck to Ed Mulligan in the latter part of 1986. Mulligan, who owned a chain of 4WD performance stores throughout Australia, went on to paint the truck red and brand it with his company logo Opposite Lock. Aussie Battler’s most memorable achievement would come in July 1989, when it joined the Australian Monster Truck Challenge tour, which saw it feature alongside the US trucks Bigfoot and Taurus, and New Zealand’s Kiwi Thunder. Before the 1991 tour rolled around again, the Aussie Battler would undergo a massive transformation and become the Flying Falcon.
